My home in the Masai Mara: the Mara River Camp

The Mara-River Camp is located beside the river, in a bend. Hippopotami bathe right in front of the tents and sometimes, they come out at night and graze within the campsite.

"My" tent in the Mara-River Camp. Above the bed, my own private mosquito net. The Masai Mara is situated rather high for mosquitoes and I did not see many of them. But sleeping under the net (which you should always take with you to Africa) is much more comforting, since a case Malaria is not really the ideal souvenir to bring with home with you from Africa.

The Mara River Camp is closed since 2002.
